Night, Moonlight, the Contented Solitude of A Kid Undone

Some nights I sit
I wonder, with awe
Who is the man
Who thinks these thoughts?

Am I the boy
From so long ago
Still that same kid
A young man stretched
By time.

Whats easier
To write a poem
Or what you think?
Are the two
Synonymous?

The kid, eh, hes gone
I'm a man, now.
Manhood means
Knowledge.

Knowledge means
more information
Is this a good thing?
Of course, we say

But what of the simple man
What of the simple boy?
Who knew nothing but love

There was no desire above and beyond
Just the love of neighbor
And self.
Doing happy things
Thinking happy thoughts

You can still be a kid today
As Nike would say
"Just do it."
